On Sunday, 18th May, 2008, Kiev hosted the opening of the Living Library in Ukraine in Tarasa Shevchenko park. The Library functioned much like a conventional library as we all know it, the only difference – in the Living Library the “books” were human beings, each of them with own life stories to share: adventures, love, incredible dreams and real horrors. A party was organized for children refugees in Kyiv integration centre for refugees on 10 December, with the joint efforts of the volunteers of UNHCR and International Relief and Friendship Foundation in affiliation with Service For Peace and students of Kyiv universities.
