On Sunday, 18th May, 2008, Kiev hosted the opening of the Living Library in Ukraine in Tarasa Shevchenko park. The Library functioned much like a conventional library as we all know it, the only difference – in the Living Library the “books” were human beings, each of them with own life stories to share: adventures, love, incredible dreams and real horrors. After implementation of last year’s International Volunteerism Promotion campaign, the organisers received very positive feedback from its participants, both International volunteers and Ukrainian youth in the villages visited by the campaign.
