Opening of the Health and Rehabilitation Centre ‘Sonechko’ (‘Sun’) coincided with International Children’s Day. To mark this event in Ovruch the students of Vocational College 35 who are volunteers of Ovruch Rayon Centre of Social Services for Families, Children and Youth joined the celebration. The oblast centre of social services for families, children and youth provided all participants of the event with t-shirts pinned with the UNV logo.

Tamara Repyova, Youth Development Specialist, told the audience about volunteers and what they do, while the volunteers organized a flashmob ‘Doing Good Is Not Painful.’ Afterwards, they played various games with the children from the health and rehabilitation centre, sang and round danced, recited poems and had a competition of children’s chalk drawings on asphalt ‘Let There Be No End to Child’s Happinness!’ The authors of the best drawings received souvenirs. The children also received balloons with UNV logo as a keepsake for the event.

After the celebration, the volunteers analysed their work, each putting the record on personal contribution in the respective ‘volunteer’s book.’

We sincerely hope that new volunteers will soon join our team.
