Brief project description:

Living library is an effort to open the door for greater understanding and appreciation of differences among people as a way to rich and open society.

Living Library (LL) functions like a common library as we all know it – readers come, fill in a readers’ card, choose the right book and borrow it for limited period. After all, there is just one difference in LL: the LL-Books are not paper books. The books in LL are human beings representing marginalised groups that often face up prejudices and stereotypes and who are often victims of discrimination or social exclusion.

Job description:

• welcome Readers in the Living Library, guide them through the concept of the Living Library, provide an advice when needed;
• facilitate the process of LL-Reading: registering Readers, ensuring their acceptance of the LL rules, timing, collecting questionnaires and receiving feedback, etc.
• facilitate first encounter with a Book;
• take care of safeness and comfort of all Books in the Living Library;
• inviting more visitors to the Living Library venue.

Librarian profile

We are looking for open-minded, enthusiastic and trustable persons, who:

• are good team players;
• possess excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills;
• posses skills of stress- and conflict management;
• can prioritise tasks.

Knowledge of English or any other foreign language would be an asset
