Brief project description:

Living library is an effort to open the door for greater understanding and appreciation of differences among people as a way to rich and open society.

Living Library (LL) functions like a common library as we all know it – readers come, fill in a readers’ card, choose the right book and borrow it for limited period. After all, there is just one difference in LL: the LL-Books are not paper books. The books in LL are human beings representing marginalised groups that often face up prejudices and stereotypes and who are often victims of discrimination or social exclusion.

Tasks of the LL-Volunteers:

• promote the Living Library among public society (disseminate flyers, posters in specially selected places, such as boulevards, vocational schools, computer clubs, universities, bookstores, libraries, coffee bars, students cafeterias etc.);
• informing public about aims of the project and providing additional information;
• assist in organising of the LL event - organising space of the event, supporting Books during LL event.

LL-Volunteer’ profile:

We are looking for open-minded, enthusiastic, cooperative and trustable people, who:

• are good team players;
• possess excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills;
• have an ability to work under pressure;
• live in Kyiv.
