24-25 October 2011 – The 2011 UNV retreat was held in Pusha Voditza, a beautiful, quiet place outlying Kyiv. Twelve volunteers representing five countries—Ukraine, Czech Republic, Finland, Italy and Japan—met to exchange ideas, share experiences, and learn about different cultures.

The group then learned about various support and funding opportunities available to UNVs, such as the microgrant program that provides volunteers with funding to help complete community-based projects. In addition, volunteers discussed and proposed ideas about ways to make the UNV experience even better.
